28/09/2009 - National Drilling Company Awards Contract to Build Onshore Drilling Rigs

National Drilling Company has awarded a contract to Baoji Oil Field Machinery company represented by China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation to construct several drilling rigs with cost around 800 million dirham after a tender which included several international companies. The agreement was signed by National Drilling Company General Manager Mr. Abdalla Saeed Al-Suwaidi and Mr. Bi Yueming, President of China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation. National Drilling Company General Manager extended appreciation to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company senior management and Supreme Petroleum Council for approving this project and for the wise vision and guidance. He stated that the award of this project is one of the largest rig acquisition ventures and will benefit oil producing companies in Abu Dhabi. He added that National Drilling Company is adopting a long term strategy of sustainable growth while committed to the highest standards in Health Safety Environment and Technology.
