Water is the world's most precious resource, the elixir of life. To help understand the quantity, quality, and distribution of ground water and to help safeguard these reserves of Abu Dhabi Emirate, NDC has partnered with the US Geological Survey (USGS) to form the Ground Water Research Program, providing valuable research on groundwater resources and the hydrology of the Emirate.
Since the inception of the project in 1988, GWRP scientists and specialists have developed a comprehensive ground-water database, assessed and mapped the resources of the Emirate, and produced over 200 scientific publications. GWRP has drilled over 600 research wells. NDC leads program planning and management of the Ground Water Research Program. |
In September 2005, NDC added Rig Al-Hail,
one of the most heavily automated and
technologically advanced rigs in the region,
to its fleet. The new addition brought NDC's
offshore fleet total to 10 jack-up rigs and one
self-propelled jack-up barge. In response to
rising demand for its drilling, work over and
wellhead maintenance services, NDC also
operates a number of sub-contracted rigs.
